The mfc42.dll file is widely used in a large number of applications, created using Microsoft Visual C++. This dll is a core component of the Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) used by MSVC++. The mfc42.dll file is usually distributed with most operating systems today, but there are certain cases when it may be found to be missing. Some programs with improper installation kits may delete the mfc42.dll when being uninstalled. Hardware errors like for example system file errors or hard disk surface errors may cause corruption of the mfc42.dll file or even it may be missing. If you receive error messages related to the mfc42.dll file, a solution can be to find this dll on another computer and place it into yours. In most cases this should solve your problem. The mfc42.dll file must be placed inside your WinSys folder (for more information about this folder see below). Alternatively you may attempt placing it inside your application's main instalation folder.
