Fixing msoe.dll errors



Symptoms: When starting Outlook Express, user receives this error message: Outlook Express could not be started because Msoe.dll could not be loaded.

The msoe.dll file is a 32-bit dll that is one of the main components of Outlook Express. There are several reasons that may cause trouble with this dll, but the most common case is when more than one version of Outlook is installed on the same computer, this creating registry problems and causing the above error message related to msoe.dll.

The solution is to backup your email files, then uninstall and reinstall Outlook Express. This should restore the application back working in good order. Please note that in order to do this you will need to have your Windows installation CD handy.
