Problem: When starting up computer, the following error message appears "misssing xmlparse.dll" or
"missing startup file .DLL, XMLPARSE.DLL".
This is a common computer problem that may happen to some users, that we are trying to address next.
The xmlparse.dll file is a common runtime library, used by messaging applications like ICQ, AIM, or Yahoo Messenger.
The purpose of the xmlparse.dll is to provide XML parsing capabilities to all these applications. The above
mentioned xmlparse.dll errors happen when the computer attempts to launch one of the above mentioned messaging
applications, but the xmlparse.dll file is missing or corrupted. The corresponding program will fail to start
and an xmlparse.dll error message will appear.
There are more ways to fix this issue. If you know the application causing the error (look in the error message
box at its title, sometimes the application that causes the error is mentioned in the title bar), then you may
attempt reinstalling that application. Alternatively you may download a copy of the xmlparse.dll file and place
it in your application's main folder.
If you do not know the application, or do not want do reinstall it, you can attempt copying the xmlparse.dll file
from another computer. The xmlparse.dll file must be placed in the application install folder, however if
you do not know what the application install folder is, you may attempt placing it in the WinSys folder. For more
information about the WinSys folder and to download a copy of the xmlparse.dll file, see below. Once downloaded,
unzip the file and place it in the above mentioned folder.
A copy of the xmlparse.dll file can be downloaded right

Important note: the Windows System folder can be different depending on operating system and the install path that was originally
used when your Windows Operating system has been installed. The defaults for this folder are:
- C:\Windows\System32\ on Windows XP
- C:\WINNT\System32\ on Windows NT and Windows 2000
- C:\Windows\System\ on Windows 9x and Windows ME
